Gas prices on the rise again

The Sun Chronicle -- As expected, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are again on the rise after a one-week reprieve.

AAA Southern New England reported Monday self-serve, regular is selling for an average of $3.58 per gallon, a 3-cent jump over last week, when prices dropped 1 cent after two straight weeks of 9-cent hikes.

Even though the cost has gone up 20 cents in the past month and are the highest since early June, the price in Massachusetts remains 3 cents below the national average and 15 cents lower than at the same time a year ago, AAA said.

MassachusettsGasPrices.com found regular had climbed 7.8 cents, averaging just under $3.65 a gallon.

In Attleboro Monday, the Shell station on South Avenue (Route 123) was selling regular for $3.69, up 4 cents from last week.

Hey I'd be happy to see it stay around $3. I think that would do more for the economy than anything else.

It is just absurd, oil prices are not that high. We are going into another recession, or we never come out of it?

Pipeline is shut. Oil supply is reduced, and thus gasoline prices are higher. Prices will get higher in the coming years.

Explain to me like a six-year old why these gas prices keep fluctuating? Its a jacked up system when prices can go down to $3 and then zoom up to $4 in one day!!

What is there to say? Open your wallet or drive less or a combination of the two. That's what I do insofar as the vehicle goes. If need be I cut back on life's pleasures first and then essentials. Though so far I've not needed to go that far I really feel sorry for my GasBuddy's that have needed to take drastic actions to maintain their homes, health and families.

the consumer only has so much money to go around and when pig oil takes a bigger chunk other spending suffers . this is a great way to keep us in perpetual recession . something stinks and our spineless governments are too scared or too stupid to do anything about it .
