I was at home for the tornado. My wife and I heard the train and then jumped into the closet. We came out 30 minutes later and couldn't believe how quickly so much had been destroyed.
Of course, it's not anything like a hurricane. A hurricane can destroy from the coast to Tupelo. For the tornado, my house is fine. My neighbors 100 yards from me no longer have a home. But the NWS can give you days of warning before a hurricane. I read today for a tornado most people get about 10 minutes of warning.
