I use www.phoenixgasprices.com and www.gasbuddy.com so I do not care what the average fuel price might be. I care what I am going to have to pay for my fuel. Here in the Phoenix, AZ area I can buy unleaded gasoline for $2.95 at Costco or $2.97 at Fry's (Same as Kroger elsewhere), where I can get up to $1.00 discount, making my real cost $1.97 per gallon of regular.

Of course there are fools who are still paying $3.33 per gallon at Chevron in Scottsdale (frequently called Snottsdale by locals) and drive up the average price. That is why the average price means nothing to the wise people who check www.phoenixgasprices.com and www.gasbuddy.com and then purchase fuel at the least expensive station that is on their route.
