The University of Michigan (U-Mich) study gathered data from 99.8% of vehicles sold since October 2007 and found that gasoline prices had a major bearing on average fuel efficiency of vehicles sold. This further solidifies claims that while higher gasoline prices hurt our pocketbooks, they do push us to become more fuel efficient, and that lower gasoline prices do help our bottom line, it does not promote society to become less dependent on gasoline. The University of Michigan (U-Mich) study gathered data from 99.8% of vehicles sold since October 2007 and found that gasoline prices had a major bearing on average fuel efficiency of vehicles sold. This further solidifies claims that while higher gasoline prices hurt our pocketbooks, they do push us to become more fuel efficient, and that lower gasoline prices do help our bottom line, it does not promote society to become less dependent on gasoline.

Then it's the next TV commercial that swoons that same group. Some need to learn the hard way then, they complain! :-D I say... I buy fuel efficient cars every time. Unless it's a towing vehicle, then safety feature are the #1 consideration (but then, those are diesel trucks, so compared to gas burners, they are already by design more fuel efficient than a comparative gas burner).

I have purchased 3 cars since 2007 and none have been because of fuel economy.
