Hello tworth53. I purchased a 2006 HHR LT in 2007 as a used fleet vehicle. It was easy to maintain and I had no problems with it mechanically.
One day, I was to the right rear of an 18-wheeler which threw a tire tread. I swerved to avoid the debris and put the HHR on two wheels. The HHR stands for Heritage High Roof. It was high in height but narrow in wheel base. It did not have electronic stabilizers. I traded the vehicle after this incident for a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox with electronic stabilizers.
The only other issue I had was the low front roof line. When I pulled up to a traffic signal, I couldn't see the light unless I hunched over the steering wheel. That was an annoyance, but nothing major.
The vehicle got good gas mileage and ran well. So overall it was a good vehicle, except for handling.

I have a 2009 HHR and it is one of the best cars I have ever owned. One warranty claim in three years....no other maintenance other than oil changes. Terrific car.

Haven't even seen one in a while. If you don't like your HHR trade it in for something else.
